Our 3-men team has represented Pannonia at the 2019 European Men’s Club Trophy at Golf du Médoc Resort, near Bordeaux. The 3-day stroke play team event was reduced down to 2-rounds due to the heavy rains, so our team had time to get used to the course conditions.
The first day rounded out superbly as Závaczki Bálint carded a 1 over Par 72, which result was joined by Szeberényi Máté’s 6 over. With these two scores the Pannonia Team was 13th after round one which was much higher than the expectations since the team was ranked 22nd based on the hcps, out of 25 teams. The second day was even better for our guys as Szeberényi Máté carded a season low even Par (71), while Rózsa Dávid came in with 4 over Par (75). With these scores Team Pannonia climbed as high as 12th in the teams competition, well better than the targeted 20th spot.
Our players performed really well individually as well, Závaczki Bálint and Szeberényi Máté came T24 while Rózsa Dávid finished T46 in the strongest field of the tournament’s history, where 47 plus handicappers were competing out of 75 players.
The winner of the Trophy is the City of Newcastle Golf Club with 6 under Par in total, though Pannonia is also achieved a great result with their performance.
